: I was just wondering.
If you took out the SIM card from say, a Sony Ericsson or any other phone, and then put it into another phone, can you access all the data if the data was stored on the SIM card?

Can you actually take a SIM card from another phone and put it into a different one?

Please tell me.
This isn't for any bad uses, I want to change phones, and wondered if I could do it like that.

: Yes my friend you can. Its easy if you have an android phone. Just put your sim in the phone, switch it on and then open your phonebook or contacts. Open its settings and there you will find an option which says import/export contacts. Just use it. Hope i helped:)

: Yes that's the purpose of SIM cards, so you can use your cellphone plan with different phones by taking it out and putting it in another one. Your new phone may or may not support the high speed data network your carrier offers, but it can send and receive basic calls and texts at the very least and use a slow data connection known as EDGE. You can save a limited number of names, phone numbers, and texts with a SIM card and then when you place it into your new phone, all those names and numbers will pop up in your new phone. If you cam from a smartphone running Android to another smartphone running Android, you just need to log in and your saved contacts will be restored on the new phone. Things like pictures, videos, and music will have to be moved manually through microSD cards or some other method besides your SIM card.

: So long as the new phone is on the same network or unlocked to any network ? You can put your sim into as many phones as you like.
I change my phones very regular but have had the same number and sim card for over ten years.
